Saudi Kings surrenders to Fiery Hosts

"Hosts Russia got their dream start off the World Cup demolishing a 5-0 victory over Saudi Arabia at a delirious Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow."

Russia started off well with a 4-2-3-1 attacking midfield, clearing their motives of playing an attacking and aggressive football.
The first goal came after 12 minutes from a corner which was half-cleared and Iury Gazinsky headed home the tournament's opening goal.

Soon after the goal, their No.9 - Alan Dzagoev limped off with a suspected hamstring injury substituted by Denis Cheryshev.

It didn’t take long for the substitute to make his mark on proceedings, finding the net and giving a 2-0 lead go his team, becoming the first man in history to net in a World Cup opener after coming off the bench.
Cheryshev scored a magnificent goal getting away from a challenge and thumping his finish high into the net as the first half ended in favour of the host nation by a 2-0 lead.

Another substitution came from the Russian side as Fedor Smolov went off and Artem Dzyuba came in.
Just a minute after entering the fray, came a pinpoint cross from Aleksandr Golovin finding Dzyuba at the back post and he made no mistake – heading expertly into the net to extend the lead to an insurmountable three.

Just a few minutes left for the stoppage time Cheryshev turned it on once again netting an audacious outside of the boot strike, in simply jaw dropping fashion.

It looked to have been the cherry on top of an enormous win, until Golovin netted the fifth goal of the match himself. With just seconds left, the youngster stepped up to a free kick outside the box, before curling a poweful effort to wipe off a stunning 5-0 result.

Two assists and a goal for rising star Golovin – an undoubted one to watch as this tournament progresses – and the perfect start to a World Cup on home soil.

To be honest Saudi Arabia's performance was a pure disgrace, with missing passes, lack of understanding and a very poor ability to score goals.

If this one was anything to go by, we’ve got 63 games of pure excitement to come.
