GUIDE TO FIFA WORLD CUP 2018

As the "FIFA World Cup 2k18, Russia" is just three days away from today, here are some tips to stay updated with all the matches and all tournament related infos.


Match schedule and groups :


  • You should be well aware about the teams and in which groups they are into.
  • There are a total of 32 teams divided into 8 groups; A-H, with 4 teams in each.
  • 2 table top teams from each group will qualify for the round of 16.
  • 16 teams will be eliminated from the group stage.

Know your team :


  • Make sure that you've enough information about the team you support.
  • Get known about the players, their positions and their way of play.
  • Know about your team's group competitors as well.
  • Watch the matches carefully and try to understand the way of playing of your team.

Deserving teams to lift the cup:

  • Brazil - With a shameful defeat by 6 goals in the semi finals of the previous World Cup by Germany, this season's Brazil team looks amazing. Skilled youngsters like Neymar, Coutinho and Gabriel along with the experienced Marcelo, Thiago Silva, Paulinho this team has got some serious potential to win this years World Cup.




  • France - Knocked out by the Germans as well in the quarter finals of the 2k14 world cup, this year's France team are full of skilled and talented youngsters with Antoine Griezmann to lead from the front.


  • Germany - The world champinons. With many of the previous World Cup's star like Mirslav Klose, Bastian Schweinsteiger and captain Phillip Lahm being retired, this season's players are world class as well. With the winner of provious World Cup's golden gloves winner Manuel Neuer as their captain, Germany will be looking forward to lift their second consecutive world cup title.



  • Argentina - Once again defeated by the Germans in the previous World Cup Final, this team has the best footballer in the world, Lionel Messi along with other big names like Paulo Dybala, Gonazalo Higuain and Angel DiMaria. This team will surely look forward to lift the cup.



  • Belgium - Surprised to see this team? With the 3rd place in the Fifa rankings, let me tell you this is the only team to win all their European qualifiers without conceding a single goal. With big names like Eden Hazard, Kevin DeBruyen, Thibaut Courtois and Vincent Kompany as captain, this team will give a very tough competition to their rivals.



When and where to watch :

  • This season's match timings will be great for us Indians. With a very less night awake matches; this year's match timings are - 3:30pm, 5:30pm, 6:30pm, 7:30pm, 8:30pm, 9:30pm, 11:30pm and 12:30am respectively (all timings in IST).
  • Both semi-finals will be played at 11:30pm (IST).
  • FINAL will be played at 8:30pm (IST).


  • All the matches with will be telecasted live on Ten1, Ten2, Ten3 and on Sony Liv app respectively.
