EASTERN AND WESTERN CULTURE

The ideas, the customs, and social behavior of a particular people or society can be explained as culture. We have desired kinds of culture in our society. Some of the main cultures follow in today's generation is Eastern and Western culture. The way of connecting with each other, the various customs includes these. The definition like the Eastern and Western culture seems to have the same origin. If we say in simple words, the Eastern culture means Asia and the Western culture means Europe and USA. They can have some same features, but also they are really different ones.

The eastern culture is the culture of the countries like India, Japan and a lot of other ones which have a lot of traditions and habits. They would like to continue the old traditions and to not like them to something new.

The Western Culture is the culture of Europe and USA, which contains from the dynamic lifestyle, development in the countries and a lot of new technologies which are developed.

Eastern Culture

The Eastern Culture is not developed very quickly. We can see, that there are the traditions, which were presented even 100,200 or even more years ago. The Eastern culture have a lot of different Gods and religions. People believe not in one God, but they have a lot of them. It is built on the different ancient traditions and rules. In this people did not like a lot of modern technologies. Eastern culture has developed many themes and traditions.

Eastern Culture of India 

The Culture of India refers to thousands of distinct and unique cultures of all religions and communities present in India. India's language, religion, dance, music, architecture etc. Differ from place to place within country. Indian culture often labelled as process of several cultures and has been influenced by a history that is several millennia old. Many elements of India's diverse culture such as Indian religions, customs, martial arts, dance, music etc have profound impact across the greater India and the world. Indian origin religions include Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Hinduism. All of which are based on the concept of dharma and karma. India has 29 states with different culture and civilizations and one of the most populated countries in the world. India is one of the most religiously and ethnically diverse nations in the world, with some of the most deeply religious societies and cultures.

Western culture

Western culture is characterized by a host of artistic,literary and legal themes and traditions. It is the heritage of various European peoples. Christianity including the Roman Catholic Church, Protestantism and the Orthodox church has played a prominent role in the shaping of Western civilization. Western culture continued to develop with Christianization during the middle age, reform and modernization triggered by Renaissance, and with globalization by successive European empires that spread European ways of life and European educational methods around the world between 16th and 20th centuries. European culture developed with complex range of philosophy and Christian and Secular humanism.

Western Culture is based mostly on Christianity, scientific, logical and rational schools. Western culture has a linear view of the universe that is based on the Christian philosophy that everything has a beginning and an end. Western Culture takes on a emotional approach in searching outside oneself through research and analysis. It believes that the key to success is through material means. The Western culture believes that the one's future is unknown and that is determined by God.

Some Major differences between Eastern and Western Culture

1. Rigid Beliefs 

It has been believed that more often than not the people from the East are rigid in their ideologies and beliefs. For them the truth is what has been there for thousands of years and not to be challenged irrespective of its fading validity in modern times. However, things are looked from a rational perspective in the west, and decisions and actions are not emotionally driven.

2. Attitude

When it comes to attitude, the west could be thought of as analytical and detailed. The focus on the problem at hand and arrive at an outcome based of the pros and cons of that particular problem. The East, however, is known for its holistic view. The preference of the latter is to come to a well rounded and all inclusive solution which applies across the table

3. Status Of Female

In the est women are still regarded as those who would sacrifice professional life and career in favour of rearing children and taking care of the family. This is one of the psyches of the east that is not prevalent in the west. A female in the is free to decide her priorities and something as basic as when to marry or even bear children. The same luxury or rights has to be fought for and often not granted to the women in the East.

4. Independence

the idea of independence in its true context exists only in the western culture. In the east, independence comes with various other conditions. No individual can be truly independent in the east where the bond with the family precedes anything related to the self. Something as basic as children moving out of the parents' house after a certain age which is very much common and sanctioned in the western culture is seen as curse to family in the east.

5. Spirituality

Religion in the eastern society is given more importance than perhaps in the west. The importance of religion in the east can be gauged by the events to religion that still stir societies in this part of the world. To this day there are rots and killings in the name of faith. Although religion is a very much existent concept in the west, it has not been stretched to the extent of intolerance like in the east.
